About

López Excavating Inc., “opened its doors” in the Spring of 2018 but operating heavy equipment is nothing new for the López Brothers Enrique and Arnoldo.  The two oldest brothers from a family of 6 (all local Truckee residents) have been operating Heavy Equipment for 20 + years, opening their own company is a dream come true.  Since starting business in the Spring of 2018 the company has taken off owing to the brother’s vision of hard work, integrity, pride and community focus.  During the Spring through Fall months the company focuses its efforts on excavating and during the Winter months they turn to snow removal.  They are so excited to have been gifted this opportunity by their former employers Al and Karla Pombo and of course their diligence and dedication.

The López brothers are living the “American Dream”.  Both came to Truckee, CA as babies from Jalisco, Mexico and learned the value of hard work from their dad and mom who worked at the Truckee Lumber Mill and cleaning homes.  Their dad taught them from a young age not the only the value of a dollar but the value of a quarter; they will tell you that if they asked their dad for a quarter for a purchase at the “Company Store” (now the Beacon) he was quick to answer - “go see what the neighbors needs help with and you can earn the money for what you need.”  It is this work ethic that has made López Excavating so successful from the start, both brothers strongly believe in quality work and client and community connections.

López Excavating is a family business with Enrique’s wife Brienne and Arnoldo’s wife Brandy working in the background on bids, invoicing, emails, etc. (all the fun stuff).  That is no surprise however because family is a central theme not only for the brothers but their entire family.  You will be hard pressed to find anyone in Truckee who does not know a López; they are a large family who supports one another and has stayed close even as it has grown.  Enrique and Arnoldo have two younger brothers, a Truckee Police Officer, and an employee of TTSA and two younger sisters, an employee of TTUSD and of TFH.  But don’t let that fool you, that is just the beginning, their family tree is large and their relationships with their cousins and extended family is one thing that makes this company so wonderful; they have used that pride and love of family and it taken it even farther to embrace the community that they love so much.

From the very beginning López Excavating became a large supporter of the community, donating money to youth sports, arts and more.  Recently during the COVID Pandemic they donated to the Boys and Girls Club of North Tahoe to feed families for a week.  Enrique said, “this community took care of us and children and it has always been my goal to one day be able to do the same thing.”  You will see the brothers frequently at local fundraising events, sporting events, local businesses and about town; they strongly believe that supporting the Truckee community is crucial.  Both brothers have children in the local school system and sports and are strong believers in raising their children with the same pride for their family and community that they both possess.  Through the years they (and their wives) have coached, volunteered and served on various boards to support their children’s sports and education.
